What we collect

  • Account info:When you sign up, we collect your name and email address through our authentication provider (Clerk). This lets you contribute to the community and track your contributions.
  • Location:With your permission, we use your device’s location to show nearby venues. We never track your location in the background or store location history.
  • Contributions:Any ratings, reviews, photos, and tips you share are stored so they can be displayed to other users. Your contributions are associated with your account.
  • Usage data:We collect basic analytics (pages visited, features used) to improve the app. This data is aggregated and not tied to your identity.

Third-party services

We use the following third-party services to run Sideline Scout:

  • Clerk — authentication and account management
  • Supabase — database and data storage
  • Mapbox — interactive maps
  • Google Places — venue data and search
  • Vercel — hosting and analytics

Each of these services has their own privacy policies. We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function.

What we don’t do

  • We never sell your personal data to anyone.
  • We don’t use your data for targeted advertising.
  • We don’t share your information with data brokers.

Your choices
